Little bug is doing well. Today she went to a "big girl" birthday party and had a blast. She came home, and announced "PEE PEE" so I took her. She went. This happened 3 times, once even after bed time. She is so proud of herself. It touches my heart to see her growing and learning so much and watch her enjoy the confidence she gains with every new skill.
Big bug is a huge help with this. She is so wonderful at cheering Little bug on. She is an amazing young girl. Today at Costco, she saw a play house and wanted to play; so we did. A lady and her two children saw BB standing at the BBQ window of the play house and pretended to order from Molly. She played right along. Her vocabulary is immense. We were at her friend HDM's house and she looked at one of the mom's and said "It is disgusting to eat stuff off the floor!" The mom laughed to hear a four year old say that. She then floored everyone by bellowing from the table "HDM ( a very long name)'s grandma... HDM'S grandma!" Why you ask.. the little girl next to her (who was maybe 2.5) needed a glass of milk and couldn't get anyone's attention. When I found out (I had been changing LB's diaper) I was so proud. I love the part of her that needs to make sure everyone is taken care of. Yes, it has it's good part and its bad part.
Bottom line; we all are happy, healthy, growing and learning the best way we can.

Two Big steps forward
This weekend brought a huge leap forward for little bug. Friday night at nana and papa's house Lilbug looked at me and said "PEEPEE." OK, off to the bathroom and we sat. She has been doing this a lot lately, so I really didn't think anything of it. She sat on the little potty, then wanted to move to the stair potty that sits on the big toilet. She picked up her book and sat, all of a sudden she peed and the look of surprise as she heard the pee hit the water was priceless. Big Bug was standing right there and we all looked at each other "YAH!!!!" "WOO HOO" and lots of clapping later we all took a deep breath. After washing hands etc. we went out to the front of the house and all of the family celebrated.
Then on Sunday, the girls were in the bath and Hannah said "PEEPEE!" OK, out of the bath on to the little potty, and she peed! It was so cool! We celebrated! I can't believe that she is getting ready to leave the diapers behind. She is growing up so fast.

Little Bug is growing so fast.
We are all finally well
After Big Bug and Daddy bug got over the H1N1 virus and Little bug finally got over the skin infection, we are now all healthy and loving life. It has been a long hard road, and it is nice to be on the other side.
The flu lasted about a week for each of them. A very tough week, one that was hard to experience the flu and very hard to support them as they fought the virus.
Little Bug's skin infection came and went for the better part of sixweeks (and two more trips to the doctor) and even now will flair up occasionally. :-(
I managed to stear clear of it all. :-)

Big bug is 4

Yep, I can't believe it either, but it is true. We celebrated in true Big Big fashion. She requested a Princess/ Star Wars party with her classmates and friends. So for 1.5 hours we opened our home to 17 children. 15 four year olds and 2 year olds. We played pin the light saber on Darth Vader, made crowns, created our own castles or solar systems, bowled down the hall, and hit a princess castle with a "light saber" (lacross stick).
The cake... mommy made a castle guarded by six Star Wars figurines.
A great time was had by all.
I hope that this is not a Cake Wreck!

The house of Ill.....
This has been one heck of a week.
Monday Big bug woke up complaining of a cough and sore throat. It didn't sound like anything big, so we let her have a jammie morning and went about our usual routine. By 11:00 she had a fever and at 3 when I picked her up from nana papa's house she was really not well. We went to the pedi for little bug's flu booster and I commented to one of the nurses, we may be back. Oh what I didn't know then.....
Tuesday... big bug still had a fever, cough even worse, won't eat and her fever is so high she doesnt' want to cuddle cause it hurts to be touched, but wants to be comforted. Little bug's rash (she has had off and on for a couple of weeks) is much worse.
Wednesday... Big bug's fever still high, cough much worse and still lethargic. Tylenol was doing nothing. Daddy took the girls to the morning sick hours at the pediatrician while I went to work to get things set up for the sub and then met then at the dr.s. I arrived just as they were put into the exam room. Doctor comes in and looks at Hannah. Says she looks great and gives a regimine for her fungal infection, then turns to big bug. Examines her, she looks good, clear ears, lungs sound good, throat a little red, nothing of note except this spikey high fever and rattley cough.... "she has the flu" he says, "but she got her flu shot, I guess they missed one" I replied, and he said yep... this one we don't have the vaccine for. He suspects that she has H1N1 and says to keep her home and hydrated. He then says you all will probably get it, so get ready. He then outlined what should happen, what to be concerned about, when to come back if necessary, and special instrucitons for little bug should she become simptomatic.
Thursday... mom off work. BB Fever wains. but still not normal. She is able to play and eat a little. LB rash getting better. LB starts to cough
Friday... mom still off work, Dad woke up sick :-(BB Fever still very low, but still there then spiked again in the afternoon. LB rash looks great!
Stay tuned........

A simple gesture
On Monday Little bug had to go to the pediatrician for her bootser flu shot. Big bug wasn't feeling well (see next post) and but was really well behaved and supportive. On the way out I needed to use the restroom so we went in. On our way out I picked up all of the paperwork and my purse and looked at big bug, then little bug and said "let's go." Big bug in turn said "OK! and grabbed little bug's hand and they walked, hand in hand, out of the restroom and the building, leaving me behind to watch in total amazement. I cried.
